good. ah, poor billy joe. first we lost his hound dog, mitchell, and then his pa. nobody can give the boy back what he done lost, but he sure needs something of his own to love, and i was wondering if lassie done had herself a litter of pups? oh, no. i know we promised billy joe one of lassie's pups; we'd hoped to have one before this. see, lassie just hasn't had a litter since mitchell was killed here last year. oh, it don't make no never mind then. the boy will wait. it's a shame. it would have made billy joe's christmas. isn't there something that we could do? i think the taylors' dog is expecting a litter. i'll just go check into that. like i said, the boy purely needs something of his own to love.
